![]() Bethany Presbyterian Church At Bethany there are numerous opportunities for service to Christ. You may serve by praying for our pastor, our congregation, the greater church, our leaders and those with special needs. We have an active Prayer Chain, which will welcome you if you desire to join. You may serve by attending Sunday School and Worship Services and by teaching a class if you are so inclined. We conduct a wonderful Vacation Bible School for Children. All are welcome and we can always use assistance with this great program. Members visit Nursing Homes on the Last Tuesday of each month. All who wish to participate meet at the church at 6:00 P. M. and proceed to the Homes to be visited. We deliver one of the routes of Meals on Wheels of Colonial Heights, Fordtown, Rock Springs and Sullivan Gardens each day and several members serve on the Board of Directors. We have very active Presbyterian Women Circles and they have numerous activities such as the Spring Fling - a fun and enjoyable event honoring the Senior Citizens in our community where a delicious meal, entertainment and Christian music are presented. They have two fund raising events during the year - a Yard Sale in May and Apple Butter Making in October. We have an excellent Adult Choir presenting Cantatas during the Easter and Christmas seasons in addition to singing at each worship service and practicing each Wednesday evening. We have a "Nifty Past Fifty" Group consisting of widows and widowers, which meets once a month at Shoney's for breakfast and fellowship. We have a number of Special Outreach Programs such as the Three-Cents-a-Meal Hunger Program, the Samaritan's Purse Shoe Box Ministry, Service at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen, preparation of "Goody" boxes for college students and military personnel, and preparation and distribution of a monthly newsletter. Come and join us and participate in serving our Lord. |
